About the role
The HR and Finance Transformation Programme is a significant investment by the University aimed at delivering significant, transformational change in how human resource and finance services are delivered. This high profile, multi-year programme will see the University join with a technical implementation partner (TIP) to deliver significant digital change that underpins a focussed and rigorous simplification and consolidation of associated processes to deliver modern, user-focused services that support staff and students across the institution.

- Oversee the execution of test plans, set and monitor progress against defined metrics, track defects and provide regular and comprehensive updates to programme stakeholders
- Establish and manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle, ensuring timely identification, accurate reporting, effective prioritisation, and efficient resolution of issues across all testing phases
- Coordinate with IT and TIP infrastructure and application teams to ensure appropriate, secure and representative test environments are available, configured correctly and maintained throughout the testing lifecycle
- Proactively identify testing risks and potential system development configuration issues, developing and proposing robust mitigation strategies to safeguard against programme timelines and the quality of delivered solutions
- Ensure all testing activities, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, execution results and defect logs are thoroughly documented, maintained and adhere to established standards and best practices
- Collaborate closely with project managers, business analysts, system architects, data engineers, third party suppliers and diverse University stakeholders (academic departments, professional services teams etc) to gather requirements, define test scope, manage expectations and ensure alignment to quality goals
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
- Profound knowledge of test management processes and standards, evidenced via appropriate software testing certifications (Eg ISTQB) and/or equivalent experience
- Significant enterprise-level system test management experience covering functional, end-to-end, non-functional, regression and user acceptance testing phases and activities
- Experienced in working with and coordinating the concurrent testing activities of multiple teams involved in large scale system deliveries.
- Experience in defining and executing successfully comprehensive testing plans for complex and cross-workstream enterprise software applications
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a professional manner at all times
- Be well organised with experience in setting deadlines, delegating and assigning responsibilities followed by monitoring, summarising, aligning and communicating test plan status across various stakeholder groups
- Gather, analyse, interpret and report complex data/information
- Communicate to engage and influence others
- Use digital technologies including Google applications and/or Microsoft Office
