The Biological Services Facility (BSF) within the Department of Biology is seeking to appoint a grade 3 hygiene technician. The role holder will make a major contribution to the technical excellence and successful performance of the BSF.
The Biological Services Facility (BSF) provides a technical support service to various research groups across the University. The main purpose of the role is to work within our cage wash area, to provide basic efficient cleaning and husbandry support in the facility on a day to day basis.
The role holder will be responsible for the cage wash facility and routine cleaning and processing of equipment using the cage wash machine, bottle wash and the autoclave.
The role will involve general hygiene maintenance and upkeep of the facility.
You will be educated in GCSE Math and Science.
The role holder would be expected to have recent proven reliability in the workplace. The role involves flexible working and may involve bank holidays as part of a rota basis.
Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment with the University will be subject to a satisfactory security and occupational health screening.
