The Department of Chemistry is looking for a Teaching Lab technician to provide day-to-day term time assistance in the running of a busy undergraduate teaching laboratory, and to provide support within other areas of the department managed by the Chemistry operations team.

This role will be to provide technical support to several areas of the Chemistry department and other laboratories. During term-time, the post holder will primarily provide support to the teaching lab’s senior technical staff to ensure the safe and efficient running of classes within the undergraduate laboratory, and to ensure that all equipment and solutions are prepared and put away as required. The post holder will also be required to support the department in other areas, as required by the Technical Operations Manager. Knowledge of general laboratory and health and safety processes, the ability to perform routine practical tasks to a high standard, and experience of working in a scientific environment are essential for the post, although specific training will be provided where necessary.
