The Faculty of Social Sciences is seeking to appoint several Student Services Administrators available from January 2025.
The Faculty’s mission is to understand societal challenges to achieve social change for public good. We deliver on this aim through our approach to both education and research. Our education focuses on providing an inclusive and empowering approach that changes our students’ lives and, by so doing, contributes to broader social change. And our research involves carrying out curiosity-driven and action-oriented research to help tackle societal challenges through improved understanding.
The Student Services Administrators will join either:
The Professional Services Team supporting the School for Business and Society (full time)
Or
The Professional Services Team supporting York Law School, Department of Sociology and Centre for Women’s Studies (full time and part time at 50%-60%)
The role of Student Services Administrator is both busy and varied, and involves supporting a large number of students, including international students.
You will gain an understanding of a range of programme structures and regulations to respond to detailed queries. You will support the student lifecycle, from induction to graduation. You will take responsibility for administering a full range of administrative tasks, with the objective of sharing best practice, improving efficiency and communication.
With the ability to work to tight deadlines, whilst managing conflicting priorities, the role-holder will be expected to provide high levels of customer service at all times with a friendly, approachable, ‘can-do’ attiutude.
