The Department of Environment & Geography conducts interdisciplinary research in environmental science, geography, ecology, and economics with a strong focus on impact. Our work supports commitments to green and clean living and promotes the wellbeing of people and communities. We strive to provide equality and justice for all through our research initiatives.
The Botstiber Institute for Wildlife Fertility Control (BIWFC) was established in 2016, with the main aim to provide science-based information about the use of fertility control to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts and to promote coexistence worldwide. The Europe office was established in 2021, based at the University of York in the Department of Environment & Geography, in recognition that human-wildlife interactions are quickly growing in this region more than elsewhere.
As the work of the Europe office expands, the main role of the Social Media and Event Coordinator will be to contribute to fulfil the general mission of the Institute by raising awareness about wildlife fertility control through stakeholders’ engagement with particular focus on the organisation of the 10th International Conference on Wildlife Fertility Control. Working with the BIWFC headquarters (HQ) the role will update mailing lists and information materials and play an active role in the organisation of conferences, webinars and workshops, and public education programs.
