The Directorate of Technology, Estates and Facilities [DTEF] is responsible for ‘providing outstanding work, study, research facilities, and facilities to enhance the student experience, on campus and online’.
This role is part of the Windows team within Desktop, Print & Support Services. This friendly and supportive team delivers high-profile services which are key to the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning and the world class research undertaken at the University.
You will be involved in all areas of the managed Windows desktop which is installed in teaching classrooms, office PCs, laptops, labs, and virtual desktops. These are high-profile business systems which serve the entire University and require high levels of security and reliability. The organisation is migrating away from traditional Windows management with Active Directory to modern management using Azure AD, Autopilot, and Intune.
You will be responsible for configuring and deploying these services, for continuous improvement and maintenance, evaluate and implement new & innovative software and hardware technologies. Using your previous experience of managing systems at scale, you will develop and maintain your technical expertise to provide comprehensive 2nd and 3rd line support to users and departments, as well as producing documentation and training.
You will engage and maintain relationships with customers and support staff, to evaluate customer requests and analyse technical issues. Collaboration with colleagues from all areas of IT Services allows you to share knowledge and contribute to projects.
The role requires some on-site working. We support a hybrid or 100% on-site approach.
