At the University of York, we are building critical capabilities in data governance, engineering, and DataOps and seek a Senior Database Developer, with Oracle PL/SQL skills, to join us at this foundational stage to drive key IT transformations.
Looking for a new challenge? We're seeking a talented and experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the University's ambitious HR and Finance transformation programme. In this exciting position, you'll be at the forefront of modernizing our data infrastructure, transitioning from legacy Oracle systems to a state-of-the-art Snowflake environment. You'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of our PL/SQL code, from analysis and re-engineering to migration and documentation, all while serving as a key subject matter expert. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring data compliance through meticulous auditing of Oracle usage and in building robust test environments for seamless integration. Knowledge of Oracle Database features including triggers, jobs and scripting
Experience with Oracle security, including the creation and management of roles, privileges, and users
Experience of analysing, understanding, documenting and redeveloping complex Oracle PL/SQL code
Ability to communicate between technical and non-technical colleagues and senior stakeholders
Experience of supporting and evolving data governance
Knowledge of GDPR and related legislation
