Hull York Medical School, a joint initiative of the Universities of Hull and York with the NHS, operates across both campuses and throughout the Yorkshire and Humber region's hospitals and practices. The School aims to improve regional health outcomes through its educational and research impacts.
The Skin Research Centre was established by the Medical School with the aim to generate ground-breaking discoveries that are translated to patient benefit. The SRC was established with the aim to become a leading international centre of excellence in skin fundamental and impactful research. The Centre will consolidate and expand current strengths in skin research on skin cancer, immunology and infection, pharmacology, and skin pigmentation, acting as a catalyst for new research. We embrace partnerships both outside and within academia and exploit our strengths in the physical and social sciences. Interdisciplinarity and translation are at the heart of the SRC vision. A high-quality research environment supported by the wider York Biomedical Research Institute (YBRI) community and state-of-the-art core facilities enables scientists dedicated to translational research to flourish and realise their potential through translating their clinically relevant outcomes.
We are seeking to recruit a Research Associate in cutaneous arbovirus infection research to join the newly established Skin Research Centre (SRC).
We are looking for candidates who will add value to our research portfolio in skin infection, virology and immunology. The successful candidate should have a strong interest in mosquito-borne virus diseases and developing novel vaccines to them.
This is a full-time role for 8 months available on a fixed term basis from 1 January 2025 until 31 August 2025.
