Joining the highly regarded Procurement Team, your role will be to build key relationships with internal partners and to deliver end to end sourcing solutions and value across the
procurement categories. You will be responsible for identifying procurement strategies with internal stakeholders, in support of the Category Managers (IT, services, laboratories, estates etc), delivering best value for money and sound procurement advice on individual projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team with responsibility for over £100 million non-pay spend in one of the UKs top universities.
You will play a meaningful role in ensuring the University maximises value and minimises risk in the procurement of goods, services, and works. We are seeking a procurement professional who is commercially minded and flexible in their approach to applying category skills across a portfolio of categories and subcategories. You will have a good understanding of public procurement law specifically and of contract law generally and ideally will be a full member of CIPS, or working towards full membership.
Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS)at least to Level 4 (DiplomaMember) or studying toward level 4 Foundation Diploma.
Experience of working in a professional procurement role involving tendering,negotiation, and contract management
Knowledge of e-procurement systems
Highly organised, able to work to tight deadlines and handle conflicting priorities.
Highly motivated with high levels of initiative.
Able to build effective relationships and to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team.
Able to produce clear reports, summarising complex problems and to effectively present to small teams, committees and working group
Membership of the Chartered institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) to Level4 (Diploma Member), or, studying towards Level4 Foundation Diplomat
