Directorate of Technology, Estates and Facilities [DTEF] is responsible for ‘providing outstanding work, study, research facilities, and facilities to enhance the student experience, on campus and online’.
This vacancy is to join our Estates Operations and Maintenance team which includes fully qualified and semi skilled trades colleagues.
We are seeking skilled Plumbers to operate within our friendly, supportive and multi-skilled technical team to undertake planned maintenance, installation, alteration and repair work.
Our team works across the full University campus which offers an attractive and welcoming working environment. It covers 400 acres across sites in Heslington plus City Centre locations, including the recently refurbished Guildhall.
You will be working on a variety of building types and technologies, providing essential support to a diverse community of staff, students and the general public who use these facilities.
We operate an incremental pay scale which could see your salary increase each year. Whilst it is usual for starting salary to be at the first point of the grade range, if you are an experienced, fully qualified Plumber then we anticipate your starting salary to be in the range of £31,411 to £33,314.

We largely operate core hours Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm, but during periods of high demand the team is expected to work flexibly to ensure continuity of the service. You will be part of an on-call rota team covering business critical issues out of hours and at weekends, with overtime paid in addition to the call out allowance for attendance on site.
