The Team
Powerful, authentic and engaging communications are essential to convey the many benefits of studying at York. We are currently looking to strengthen the Marketing team based in Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO) with a Marketing Graduate Ambassador role.
The Role
This fixed term position, contracted until 31 December 2022, offers the opportunity for a recent University of York graduate (2020, 2021 or 2022) to develop their marketing and student recruitment skills. In particular, to employ their knowledge and experience of being a York student to help others make the important decision about where to study.
We want to hear from recent graduates at undergraduate or postgraduate level with a background or interest in social media and video, marketing and student recruitment. This role will offer considerable variety but we are particularly keen to develop our digital offering through social media on Instagram and TikTok.
Key Responsibilities
With the support of experienced staff, you will work with current students to commission and deliver engaging content marketing activities and presentations using the most appropriate media. You will support the teams’ communications with existing schools and colleges with relevant content and technical support, including representing the University at schools or higher education fairs (either in person or online). You will produce a wide range of marketing content for marketing campaigns across multiple formats and will contribute to the team’s creative campaign development.
You must be a recent York graduate (2020, 2021 or 2022) at either undergraduate or postgraduate level and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be confident delivering presentations and/or public speaking. You will also have a thorough understanding of the issues facing young people and are passionate about communicating the value of undergraduate study at York to others. The role will require an ability to work in a team and independently, with some out of hours and weekend working required.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Consequently, all applicants will be asked to declare both unspent and spent convictions on their application form. Appointment of the successful candidate will be conditional on a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
