The University is seeking to recruit 2 part-qualified (or qualified) Accountants, to join our energetic and dynamic team.
These roles will be working directly with Professional Services colleagues, one alongside our Capital team and another supporting our University Professional Services departments, they will be supported by a well-established Finance team structure. You will receive full support and training on University systems, and have the opportunity to participate in exciting projects as part of our continual improvement process.

Accountant (Grade 6 Salary in the range of £33,309 - £40,927 a year). Qualification status and levels of experience will determine the grade offered after successful interview
You will be responsible for support services to a range of professional services units, duties as a minimum include:
You will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to build a network of key contacts across the University, and be a team player with a drive to get things right the first time.
You will have the ability to both interpret and manipulate data to provide management information of a high standard, and be comfortable using an array of accounting software tools
You may be required to manage other staff within the Professional Services Accounting team as well as influence key stakeholders across the University.
As a minimum candidates will be AAT qualified and demonstrate a commitment to progressing to professional qualified status (ACCA, CIMA etc)
What we offer
Experience in higher education is not a prerequisite and we’re interested in hearing from candidates outside of the sector. Part time working patterns at 80% may be considered for this role. The University is currently working to a mixed home and campus based working model, with a minimum of two days spent on campus. Appropriate IT equipment will be provided to facilitate this working arrangement.
