The School for Business and Society is an interdisciplinary school, combining the collective strengths from the University of York Management School and the Department of Social Policy & Social Work. It provides a unique opportunity, working collectively with staff and students and our partners to pioneer impactful interdisciplinary research and teaching for public good, delivering inclusive growth. We wish to appoint a Lecturer in Social Work to provide teaching and teaching-related activities such as personal supervision and marking.
The roleholder will contribute to teaching on our Social Work programmes and Practice Education modules and will also support the planning and organisation of the provision of professional placements and associated activities. You will have an existing network within social work practice and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of current issues and models of practice in social work. You will have an interest in supporting students’ own development objectives via rigorous, interactive learning. You will be a Practice Educator and able to support Practice Educators in their training. You will be a team player who works collaboratively, flexibly and reliably, and will work alongside an experienced and supportive team of colleagues. You will be prepared to contribute to administrative tasks contributing to the internal, strategic management of our activity.
