The Departments of Education, Environment and Geography seek to appoint a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) to contribute to research and teaching in the field of environmental sustainability education and communication. The successful candidate will join the University of York Science Education Group and/or the Centre for Research in Social Justice Education and would have the opportunity to join one or more of the research groupings in the Department of Environment and Geography.
We are looking to appoint an outstanding candidate with research expertise in an area of environmental sustainability applied to education and communication contexts, who will contribute to teaching and supervision on the MSc in Environmental Sustainability Education and Communication, an exciting interdisciplinary programme offered through the Environmental Sustainability Academy at York (ESAY) and to other programmes in the Department of Education and the Department of Environment and Geography.
Your role will be to develop an ambitious programme of research (individually or collaboratively) and to lead on and/or contribute to the production of excellent research outputs and research outcomes. You will also be expected to design, develop and deliver teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, to carry out supervision and to undertake a range of administrative and managerial responsibilities. We are open to applicants from all fields of environmental sustainability applied to education and communication settings.
You will join a collegial and supportive group of staff in both departments, which are recognised as leading centres for teaching and research in their fields.
