As a School, equality, diversity, and inclusion are central to our culture and we strive to provide a working environment which allows all staff and students to contribute fully, to flourish, and to excel. We aim to ensure that there is a supportive and egalitarian culture at all levels and across all staff groups and offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, staff engagement forums, campus facilities and services to support staff from different backgrounds. We are proud to hold Juno Champion and Athena Swan bronze awards, which recognise our commitment to creating an equitable and fully inclusive environment in which staff and students can thrive. We aim to inspire young people to engage with science and engineering through our outreach work.
In line with the School’s plans for strategic expansion, we are growing our research and teaching activity in innovative approaches to Digital Engineering. To drive this new initiative, the University is offering a package of three positions at either Professor, or Lecturer role, depending on experience.
The school is particularly interested in expertise in Data-Centric Engineering, AI, Digital Twins, High-Performance Computing, Complex Multi-Physics Model Development and Uncertainty Quantification, and how these could be integrated into future digital engineering to shorten the product development of engineering systems, especially for Fusion Energy Systems.
You will have evidence of developing an international research record and possess a clear vision across the area of digital engineering. You will enhance the School's research reputation, including supporting impact activities, in addition to designing, developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching across a range of related subjects. Specifically, you will:
