The Directorate of Technology, Estates and Facilities [DTEF] is responsible for ‘providing outstanding work, study, research facilities, and facilities to enhance the student experience, on campus and online’.
This role is part of IT Services.
Please note this is a 2 year fixed term contract.
As an IT Desktop and Print Support Assistant you will provide logistical support to the Desktop, Print and Support (DPS) Services.
You will be based on campus and have responsibility for ensuring supplies of paper are delivered and installed in multifunction printers around campus. This will involve collecting supplies from the shared IT/Library store(currently based in Poppleton) and delivering paper as and when required. In addition to maintaining supplies of paper, the IT Desktop and Print Support Assistant will provide logistical support to the DPS Operations Team. This will involve you moving IT equipment around the campus and assisting with setup and installation of desktop PCs, as well as working with colleagues from Audio Visual (AV) to check on the condition and readiness of PC classrooms.
Knowledge of basic safety regulations & procedures, for example COSHH
Full UK driving licence
Ability to lift and carry boxes of paper, furniture and IT equipment
Ability to travel to different University locations
Knowledge of replenishing consumables in multifunction printers
Experience of delivering excellent in-person customer service
Level 2 qualification (Qualifications at this level include five GCSEs at grade A*-C/ grade 4-9. Please view the full list). We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-uk qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
Physically fit with the ability to regularly lift and move heavy items.
