The University’s Careers and Placements team, based within Student Education and Experience, provides a high quality service offering a wide range of expertise, interventions and opportunities for students and alumni to build confidence, skills and experience sought after by employers and further study providers.
In this role, the chosen candidate, as part of the Central Student Services Team, will be responsible for writing, designing, curating and maintaining high quality careers information and marketing communications, particularly relevant for our current students at different stages of their time at York.
In addition, the post holder will provide excellent customer service with strong communication skills and an ability to engage with students via digital and in-person appointments and in-depth enquiry handling in a sensitive and confidential manner.
The chosen candidate will plan and project manage careers event logistics, and provide on-the-day support and co-ordination, as part of the wider team.
Required skills and qualities include:
Ability to write, curate and develop high quality content and information, tailoring for different audiences, as required
Understanding of effective communications and user engagement
Experience of customer service and 1:1 enquiry handling (face to face and digital)
Experience of planning and project management
Ability to work on your own initiative
Determination, and a positive and proactive approach
