These roles are based within the Central Admin Service for Central Professional Services (PS), Central PS directorates work across the institution to support the university’s strategy and mission and include Accommodation, Campus and Commercial services; Directorate of Estates; Directorate of Facilities Management & Campus Services; Directorate of IT Services; Directorate of Planning and Performance; Directorate of Reputation, Economic Development and Advocacy (REDA), Global Recruitment, Marketing, and Admissions (GRMA); Finance; University Secretaries Office; Strategic Projects, Library, Learning, Archives and Wellbeing (LLAW); Student Education and Experience (SEE); and Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (RIKE).
You will join a team of Administrators who support the needs of central professional services colleagues. The team works collaboratively and flexibly to provide high-quality support, ensure resilience and cover for our key operations. We embed continuous improvement practices into our service delivery to ensure that we are providing support that is flexible and adaptable to meet the University’s needs. All Administrators share responsibility for actioning administration requests; ensuring that processes are streamlined, that the use of digital technologies is maximised and that the customer is at the heart of what we do.
Your work will primarily support the fast paced HR function of the team. The type of work you will do will include supporting all aspects of internal and external recruitments from start to finish; fixed term contracts; contract variations; and secondments, for example. You will work with a range of colleagues from all levels across the directorates we support, and you will assist applicants from outside the University. With opportunities for training, and potentially supporting the wider team, you will have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge, as an administrator for the University.
We have two roles available:
Both roles will be for 37 hours per week (1 FTE) to work in the HR admin team across the Chief Financial and Operating Officer and Chief Academic Services Officer administration hubs. Requests for part time working could be considered, minimum of 0.8 FTE, 29.60 hours a week.
Although appointed to work in a specific administration role and team, post holders may be required to work flexibly across the three administration hubs within the central Professional Shared Admin Service, to support other central PS Directorates or activities as required.
