The Directorate of Technology, Estates and Facilities (DTEF) manage the physical and digital infrastructure across the University of York campuses. Accommodation Services operate across the original Campus West and newer Campus East Colleges, as well as through partnerships with providers across the city.
The Head of Accommodation is a vital professional services leadership role providing exceptional levels of service to our student population.
Reporting to the Assistant Director (Accommodation) you will be responsible for the management of the Accommodation Services team and the critical function that they perform. This includes the application and allocation process for a portfolio of over 7,000 beds and enquiry management across a range of channels.
You will work closely with other university teams to deliver a student focused service. These include Student Recruitment and Admissions, Student Life and Wellbeing and Finance as well as many other areas within DTEF.
The University of York has a range of accommodation for different types of students and you will work closely with others to grow and adapt our offer for September intake students as well as other entry points throughout the academic year and holiday periods.
As Head of Accommodation you will also manage a range of partnerships and contracts with third party owners and operators, whilst ensuring a seamless experience for students.
Senior leadership experience within student accommodation or hospitality environment
Demonstrable knowledge of accommodation provision
Level 6 qualification. (Qualifications at this level include a degree. Please view the full list). We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-uk qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
Evidence of behaviours that uphold our values
Knowledge of accessibility planning and Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEP) is desirable
A revenue management or sales background would be beneficial
