We are looking for a talented, professional Head Chef to join us at one of the country’s leading Universities. You will run one of our busy production kitchens, building upon the high standards of catering we currently achieve.
The role is a fantastic opportunity to create a great work - life balance, whilst giving you the opportunity to enhance your skill set, whether that be in fine dining, mass event catering or working alongside our award winning bakery.
You must be able to produce fresh food, on a large scale and of the highest standards to our students, as well as our thriving conference market. You must have experience in fine dining, which is a large part of our business, as you will be cooking meals alongside the Executive Chef at York’s prestigious Guild Hall.
The salary is £29,500 per annum, working full-time (37 hours per week on a 5 days over 7 basis). Majoritively these will fall within a Monday to Friday structure, although occasionally weekend work is needed and flexibility is a must to ensure the day to day running of your kitchen.
You will possess a minimum of City & Guilds 706/1/2 and or NVQ 3 as well as an intermediate food hygiene qualification. We require you to have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a supervisory position, in a high-volume catering environment.
You will have previous people and business management experience along with customer care skills, proven staff, management skills and the ability to work under pressure
