International Recruitment, Partnerships, and Mobility
The International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility (IRPM) team makes up part of the External Relations Directorate and has around 50 staff working in four key areas, spanning international student recruitment; global partnerships, short courses, and study abroad.
The International Recruitment and Partnerships team leads on student recruitment and supports important international relationships with universities and other organisations across the world.
The role
Are you a self-motivated colleague who would like to work within a team to sustain and develop teaching and other global partnerships with universities around the world? We are looking for a driven and ambitious colleague with an interest in international affairs and higher education. You will be joining the team at a critical time in the growth of international activity at the University, and will work to sustain and develop relationships with international organisations, and develop expert knowledge in particular regions and support global development activities.
As the Global Partnerships Officer, you will manage and develop key partnerships in specific areas of the world to facilitate joint projects, to raise York’s profile, and to generate new opportunities for the University with a focus on teaching partnerships such as articulation and progression and other forms of transnational education (TNE) initiatives.
The team around you are committed and driven, and you will work with them to deliver the aims of the University’s new Global Strategy. As part of this role, you will be responsible for teaching partnership and engagement links in several strategic regions, and identifying new opportunities. You will assist academic departments in developing articulation and progression arrangements with partner universities across the globe. You will provide analysis and briefing materials for senior staff, organise international visits and host international delegations, and will support the Deputy Director and other team managers in major strategic projects.
Skills and experience needed
Experience of relationship or account management
Knowledge and understanding of the operating environment of a University
Ability to develop expert knowledge in strategic regions for University partnerships activity
Experience of project management
Excellent communication skills
Ability to analyse large amounts of data and information and produce concise summaries, reports and and recommendations
Collaborative; strong team player
Experience of international partnership development and living, working or studying overseas would be an advantage
