The University of York’s Reputation, Economic Development and Advocacy Directorate ensures York's voice is heard, its value understood, and its influence felt far and wide.
Within this Directorate, the Communications team provides strategic advice and high-quality communications for staff engagement, the student experience and research reputation building.
We promote and manage media coverage to enhance and protect the University’s reputation, and we develop and embed the University’s brand, including provision of creative services and management of core digital platforms.
We also deliver a programme of public events including YorkTalks, open lectures and the York Festival of Ideas.
As a Content Producer in our Media and Research Communications team you will write, design, edit and distribute content across York’s owned channels, ensuring it is informative, accurate and tailored to different audiences.
You will use your writing, editing, web design and digital communication skills to ensure clarity and consistency in everything you produce.
Working closely with other teams within Communications, you will support our academic departments and research entities to shape and develop content, highlighting advances in our research, successful grants and academic appointments.
This includes supporting the University’s social media team by helping adapt research content for York’s central social media channels. You will also work with departments and research entities to refresh and redesign existing web pages to ensure the University’s research strengths are communicated clearly and accurately.
The role is an open contract, with fixed term funding secured until 31 July 2028, via Higher Education Innovation Funding, which is reviewed in the lead up to 31 July 2028.
