Role Description

Are you a talented chef who would enjoy a great work-life balance, no split shifts and downtime over Christmas and New Year?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for two Chef de Partie to join us at one of the country’s leading Universities. You will work within one of our busy production kitchens at the University of York, helping to maintain the high standards of catering, hygiene, and health & safety that we currently achieve.

The role is a fantastic opportunity to create a great work-life balance, whilst giving you the opportunity to enhance your skill set. You will be learning from one of our skilled Head Chefs, all of whom have a Fine Dining background, up to Michelin Star level. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple sites. 

Key requirements:

  • Possess a minimum of City & Guilds 706/1/2 (or NVQ Level 2 equivalent) and an intermediate food hygiene qualification
  • Experience with fresh food and high-volume catering
  • Driven and looking to learn
  • Adaptable and be able to think on your feet

The salary offered is £26,250.88 per annum, averaging 37 hours per week on a 5 over 7 basis. 

We have morning, mid and evening shifts (no split shifts). Occasional weekend work is required, and flexibility is essential to ensure the kitchens can meet the demands of the business.

Additional hours may be required on occasion to meet business demand. Where overtime occurs, time off at a later date will be granted when appropriate or otherwise paid.
