Role Description

We are looking for committed, enthusiastic and determined individuals to join us on a casual basis as a Swimming Instructor (Level 2), assisting in the successful delivery of the York Sport ‘Learn to Swim’ programme.

York Sport’s mission is to inspire everyone to embrace active lifestyles, exercise and take part in sport and to offer the widest range of first class sport, health and fitness facilities, services and programmes in the city.

The role will involve the planning, teaching, assessment and evaluation of swimming lessons for pupils aged 3 years upwards. 

  • You must hold a current Level 2 Swimming Instructor qualification.
  • You will possess excellent communication skills.
  • Plus an ability to work on your own initiative and within a team. 
  • Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check covered by YCL.

The rate of pay is £15.00 per hour. As a casual staff member, you will also receive holiday pay on top of your hourly rate, which is paid at 12.07%. 

This is a casual role therefore hours will be offered on an adhoc basis and cannot be guaranteed.
