The new Business Development Manager role is a key part of achieving this ambition, using their knowledge and experience of strategic business development to drive a significant increase in the performance, effectiveness and scale of our industrial engagement and income, and the action-orientated research focus signalled in our University Strategy.
Bringing insight, knowledge and experience of working with business or industry in the Physical Sciences sector, the post-holder will be responsible for leading a highly effective Business Development function. Collaborating with key departments and academics in the Sciences to drive growth in industry engagement and income, through aligning faculty research strengths with industry sector needs.
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team and drive industry engagement and income growth within the Physical Sciences sector, supporting our sector strengths within the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology (PET), Computer Science ,Chemistry . The successful candidate will have a strong commercial mindset with experience in business development / industry engagement roles. They should possess a blend of strategic vision, business acumen, and relationship-building skills to identify new business opportunities, cultivate partnerships, and expand our industry engagement.
This individual will play a pivotal role as a member of the Business Development Team, contributing to the core values of inclusivity, dedication, drive, and resilience. The successful applicant will demonstrate a strategic outlook and possess the requisite depth of knowledge to recognise emerging trends, analyse performance, and deliver updates to the Head of Business Development and management team.
