We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised Admissions Team Leader to work within the Postgraduate Admissions team at the University of York. A friendly and helpful manner is essential, combined with a flexible approach to work and an ability to work efficiently to tight deadlines.
This role involves direct line management responsibility.
You will coordinate the administration of the admissions operation for a number of academic departments, working closely with the respective Admissions Manager.
You will successfully manage the workflow of your team to ensure that resources are deployed effectively in order to maintain high standards of service and support for external and internal stakeholders.
You will liaise with colleagues in academic departments to ensure that admissions decisions are appropriate, fair and consistent, whilst also carrying out a range of administrative processes to provide an efficient and effective admissions service.
Skills & experience needed:
Ability to manage a team
An understanding of the UK Higher Education System
Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work in a team, whilst also able to manage your individual workload and use your own initiative.
Excellent IT skills with experience of using databases and spreadsheets.
