The Departments of Archaeology, History and History of Art at the University of York are globally renowned for teaching and research excellence and are home to internationally leading scholars in their disciplines. You will be instrumental in ensuring smooth operational delivery and providing essential administrative support, serving as a central contributor to the department. This diverse role includes managing departmental communications, supporting events, and creating and maintaining vital process documentation. You are expected to use your initiative daily to resolve customer queries, share knowledge with colleagues, and proactively identify and implement service improvements and efficiencies using digital solutions. The position also spans critical areas such as HR and finance admin, procurement support, and maintaining the departmental web presence. This is a fixed term contract up to 31 December 2027 working part-time at 29.60 hours a week.
