The Academic Practice team, located within the Student Administration and Academic Affairs section of Student and Academic Services, contributes to the development and delivery of a growing portfolio of work to ensure that staff with responsibilities for teaching and supporting student learning, including Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs), have access to a range of CPD resources to support their teaching roles, curriculum development, and the leadership of programmes of study. In turn, this supports the institutional need to assure and enhance the quality of teaching across the University and associated commitments to support the student learning experience.
This role provides support across the range of activities undertaken by the Academic Practice Team. You will contribute to the design and delivery of high quality credit-bearing professional development programmes and non credit-bearing courses and workshops, for teachers and Graduate Teaching Assistants.
You will also be expected to act in a professional advisory role to help individuals, departments and faculties to develop their curricula and teaching practice.
You will have a minimum of a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent, as well as a higher education teaching qualification and/or HEA Fellowship. You should have knowledge of current HE pedagogy and approaches to teaching, including the application of technology to support learning. You will have the ability to design and deliver workshops and related learning material and experience of teaching and/or educational development practice within a higher education setting.
